Some informations about Tibet

SAID WHAT THE Dalai Lama

I pay tribute to the men and women who brave, Tibet, have sacrificed their lives and who continue to suffer for the cause of the Tibetan people. ……

In 2002, my representatives and their Chinese partners have held a series of meetings during which they were able to have frank discussions and serious, allowing many clarifications reciprocal. This, we hope, should remove the doubts and suspicions of the People's Republic of China towards us. ……

Specifically, the 5th meeting, which was held a few weeks ago, has enabled both parties to determine precisely the main differences of view that remain between us, and the reasons for these differences. They have also taken the measure of the conditions necessary for the resolution of these differences. ……

Today, China is emerging as one of the major powers in the international community, that it deserved in terms of its long history and its large population. However, the biggest problem that remains is that of the correlation between political power and economic development. China must follow the prevailing trend of the modern world by hosting a more open society, a free press and political decisions transparent. Everyone knows advised that these are the foundations for a genuine peace, harmony and stability in the country. The Tibetans, one of the largest groups among the fifty-five National Minorities of China, are distinguished from others by geography, history, language, culture, religion, customs and traditions. All this has been clearly recognized in the past, not only around the world but also by many senior Chinese leaders.

I only have a claim: the right of all Tibetans, ie, the Tibetan nationality in its entirety, to establish their own rules and to enjoy genuine autonomy. This request is in accordance with the provisions of the Chinese constitution. ……

I have, on numerous occasions, stated publicly that I conceived the future of Tibet within the constitutional framework of the People's Republic of China and not in separation. ……

Today, I repeat once again that each of us makes every effort to ensure the success of the current dialogue, which is necessary to solving the problem Sino. ……

I would like to tell the People's Republic of China that if it sees some benefit to continue the dialogue through the current contacts, it must demonstrate a significant gesture. ... ...

The Chinese government should give serious thought. A positive atmosphere can be created by one side. As one old adage Tibetan, one hand is not enough to listen to an applause. ……

I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks and gratitude to the international community for the support it gives us and I want to once again, on behalf of all the Tibetans to express our thanks and appreciation to the people of unbounded and the government of India for their generosity and support farms and matchless.

Excerpts from his post in 2006, during the 47 th anniversary of Tibetan National Uprising
